Skills and Competencies
- 5-10 years of relevant work experience within sourcing or similar role
- Ability to analyze trends, forecast demand, and model costs from diverse data sources to deliver strategic insights
- Experience balancing cost and risk targets to achieve organizational objectives
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, including advanced skills such as creating and managing spreadsheets, using formulas for calculations, tracking data changes with redlining, and inserting comments to facilitate clear collaboration and document review
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills for building relationships with stakeholders
- Experience with reviewing and negotiating technology contract terms
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools and emerging technologies can be applied to improve processes, drive efficiency, and enhance day-to-day tasks, along with a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in business (or equivalent) from an accredited college/university
Responsibilities
The AVP - Software Sourcing supports the overall goals of the Procurement & Sourcing Group (PSG) with a specific focus on software. The role assumes global category lead responsibilities for hosted and non-hosted software providers.
- Proactively provide strategic guidance on process and cost savings ideas
- Analyze software spend to create sourcing and negotiation strategies alongside internal business partners
- Manage RFPs, RFIs, vendor selection, and negotiations with key software suppliers on an ongoing basis
- Work with internal stakeholders to identify and manage SLAs and supplier performance characteristics
- Collaborate with third-party benchmark providers to validate pricing proposals and negotiate competitive purchase agreements
- Create and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders with constant focus on evolving customer needs
- Understand and report savings metrics to help contribute to department-wide objectives
- Consistently focus on continuous improvement and process change
About the Team
Our Procurement & Sourcing Group (PSG) team is responsible for driving strategic sourcing initiatives and delivering cost optimization across Moody's global operations. By joining our team, you will be part of exciting work in software procurement and vendor management, leveraging innovative technologies-including AI-to enhance efficiency and support business transformation.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $119,100.00 - $196,750, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
