In this role, you will serve as an integral part of the Alumni Relations team, reporting to the Vice Chancellor, Alumni Relations.
The Executive Director of Health Sciences Alumni Relations is responsible for creating an inclusive and engaged alumni community that brings together each of the six Health Sciences schools in a comprehensive and strategic way. Working in close coordination with the deans of the health sciences schools and under the supervision of the Vice Chancellor for Alumni Relations, the Executive Director will plan, organize, and implement the alumni relations and engagement programs for the schools of Dental Medicine, Health & Rehabilitation Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Public Health. The incumbent will supervise a team of alumni relations staff members dedicated to engaging alumni in each of the Health Sciences schools.
In addition, the Executive Director will be expected to partner with colleagues in the Division of Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement to leverage alumni engagement in supporting fundraising goals. Travel is required.

Job Summary
Oversees the team and implements the University's plan and vision for outreach and alumni engagement. Creates outreach initiatives, develops an alumni engagement strategy, and oversees the coordination of special events. Collaborates and cultivates relationships with external stakeholders, alumni, students, faculty, and staff. Develops operational policies and procedures.
Essential Functions
Supervision and Management of a hybrid team: Provide direction and support to alumni relations team members in each of the 6 Health Sciences Schools. Aid and coach them in the development of strategic plans for each school, implement best practices and oversee the execution of thoughtful and engaging programming for alumni worldwide.
Relationship Management: Establishes, strengthens, and sustains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., deans, PAE and External Relations partners, faculty, alumni, volunteers, and external organizations) to support coordinated engagement, communication, and philanthropic initiatives.
Strategic Leadership and Planning: Serves as a member of the Pitt Alumni Association Management Team. Develops and executes a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy that aligns with institutional and school-level priorities across Health Sciences. Establishes annual goals, benchmarks, and performance metrics to assess program effectiveness and guide continuous improvement.
Program Development & Oversight: Designs, implements, and evaluates alumni programs, events, volunteer opportunities, and signature initiatives that foster meaningful engagement and lifelong connection, and helps identify potential prospects and donors. Ensures programming supports diverse Health Sciences alumni populations across professional fields, degree levels, and geographic areas. Events include Health Sciences Reunion Weekend, White Coat Ceremony, alumni receptions across the United States and virtual events.
Budget Management: Manages budgets and allocates resources to ensure efficient and effective use of funds in alignment with institutional guidelines.
Data Management: Oversees alumni data collection, analysis, and reporting to inform strategy, improve outreach, and support institutional decision-making. Ensures compliance with data privacy standards and appropriate use of constituent information.
Physical Effort
Moderate - Moderate physical effort required to stand/move for several hours at a time. may be required to move objects up to 50 pounds with or without assistance of equipment.

Additional details about Required Licensure/Certification: Valid Driver's License Travel is expected 1-2 times per month, mostly between September and May. Some summer travel may be required for work or conferences. This position will require evening and weekend work for meetings and events.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00, with occasional evening and weekends for events
Work Arrangement: Hybrid: Combination of On-Campus and Remote work as determined by the department.
Hiring Range: $100,000-$105,000
