Executive Director, EastLake Educational Foundation (EEF)
The EastLake Educational Foundation (EEF) is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and mission-driven leader to serve as its next Executive Director (ED), it’s chief executive Officer. The ED leads the foundation and ensures the EEF mission and strategic goals are accomplished, and is in charge of all administration, operations, programs, marketing, and fundraising. The ED reports directly to the Board of Directors.
Leadership & Governance
The Executive Director serves as the primary leader for the EastLake Educational Foundation (EEF) in all matters of governance and community engagement. Board & Committee Management: Serve as the chief liaison to the Board of Directors, ensuring they receive timely and accurate information to make informed decisions. The Executive Director is responsible for organizing meetings of the Board. In collaboration with the Board President, the Director coordinates EEF committees, such as the Taste of Eastlake and the Alumni & Friends committee.
Strategic Impact: Work with the Board and staff to ensure the Foundation’s mission and strategic plan are successfully accomplished, following best practices for nonprofit operations and leadership.
Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all federal, state, and local regulatory reports are completed accurately and on time, including the annual Form 990, Annual Registry, and Permits (e.g., raffle, ABC license, special event permit). The ED is responsible for maintaining organizational records and documents.
Partnerships & Community Relations: Build and maintain the EEF's reputation and awareness by representing the organization and its values. Develop and strengthen key relationships with community organizations: including homeowner associations (HOAs), school districts and parent groups, sponsors, civic organizations, and local chambers of commerce. The Director is responsible for overseeing all agreements with partners and vendors, such as the Sweetwater Union High School District MOU for EEF office.
Oversight: Supervise all staff, contractors (including accounting, payroll, and videography services), and volunteers to ensure effective and efficient operations.
Financial Management
Oversees financial planning and fiscal management, including developing and submitting an annual budget and monthly reports to the Board. Maintain the fiscal integrity of the organization, ensuring strong financial health through resource management, budget oversight, prudent decision making, community partnership and volunteerism. Fund the EEF’s strategic goals by hosting events, fundraising campaigns, transfer fees income, investment income, grants, and sponsorships. Oversee Transfer Fee collections and records Utilize best practices for financial transactions utilizing Quickbooks and EEF’s CRM. Implement financial direction provided by the Board of Directors. Working with the accountant/bookkeeper and investment advisor, oversee fiscal management of accounts.
Development
Plan and manage the annual Fundraiser, Taste of Eastlake. Plan and manage fundraising campaigns, including the annual Come Together Community Campaign. Obtain grants to help fund programs. Cultivate relationships and secure private and sponsor donations. Public Relations & Marketing Act as the primary spokesperson for the EEF, enhancing the foundation's image and visibility within the community.
Marketing
Oversee and ensure all marketing, public relations, social media, Brands, and communications. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the community, school districts, parent groups, community organizations, HOA’s, Chambers of Commerce, and other professional organizations.
Drive engagement to eefkids.org and eastlakealumni.org websites and other social media efforts. Produce segments for Eastlake +, A Positive podcast. Create content for distribution on websites, email, and social media. Create Annual Report
Partnerships
Develop and maintain partnerships that are value and mission aligned for the good of public schools.
Requirements
Experience: A bachelor's degree and at least five years of senior leadership experience, preferably within the nonprofit sector, and experience in the surrounding community.
Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading with integrity, transparency, and enthusiasm to ensure a balanced, non-political, and inclusive perspective.
Human Resources: Experience overseeing a staff and understanding of good human resources practices
Financial Acumen: Experienced with budget planning, management, and analysis. Oversight of day-to-day operations and expenses managing accounts receivable and payable.
Fundraising: Proven ability to fundraise through events, campaigns, and grants.
Donor Relations: proven record of developing strong relationships with donors
Communication: Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including public speaking and the ability to engage diverse groups of volunteers and donors.
Event Management: Proven experience delivering successful mid-size special events overseeing all aspects of the event plan and execution.
Organizational Skills: Well-versed utilizing online tools to organize and manage work. Tools include Microsoft 365 Suite, Word Press, Quickbooks, Salsa CRM, ADP (for employee payroll and employee benefits), BuzzSprout, Facebook/Instagram, Business Suite, podcasting tools such as OBS and Streamyard.
