Description

Interim Executive Director needed for 4-6 months to provide 30 hours per week oversight of operations for small-sized non-profit organization. Desert Foothills Library is a private non-profit library serving the communities of Cave Creek, Carefree and North Scottsdale.  The library is staffed by ten paid staff and 75 volunteers with the annual operating budget of $1M.  A robust secondhand bookstore is operated by the volunteers.  The library operates their own building which is often utilized by other community organizations and community members.  

Requirements

The Interim Director will work closely with the Board of Directors and staff for the preparation of the hiring of the full-time permanent E.D.  Must have strong background working in non-profits and significant management skills to oversee operations short-term.  Ideally strong team building skills and collaborative model for both internal operations and community involvement.  Ability to work well in organization that is transitioning.  Must have advanced degree and 5-9 years experience as Executive Director, Assistant Director or Manager.  Degree in library Science not necessary.
