Investor Relations, Vice President
The firm is a 30-year-old $9 billion institutional asset manager with offices in New York and London. The firm seeks to hire an Investor relations professional to work as part of a small, entrepreneurial team primarily focused on supporting and growing the firm’s institutional long-only clients.
Position Overview
This individual will serve as an integral member of the client advisory team with a primary focus on supporting the firm’s long-only separate account clients and also serving as a product specialist for the designated U.S. product. The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated interest in and ability to complete the full range of investor relations functions and will also exhibit an interest and ability to manage and cultivate client and consultant relationships. The successful candidate will need exceptionally strong communication and quantitative skills.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Manage and maintain existing client relationships
- Support the Business Development team with prospective clients
- Collaborate with the internal Client Advisory and Sales team on a variety of initiatives, including:
- creating client presentations and marketing materials
- drafting and coordinating monthly and quarterly client letters/commentaries
- conducting competitor and market analysis
- setting up and comprehensively preparing for existing and prospective investor meetings and calls, and proactively following up in a precise, timely, and professional fashion
- Prepare regularly scheduled monthly and quarterly reporting and manage responses to ad hoc investor requests
- Perform detailed data analysis to provide insights into asset classes, strategies, and product positioning
- Participate and provide input in the RFI and RFP process
- Provide support in the production of due diligence materials
- Prepare product reviews for senior management and marketers
- Monitor client inflows, outflows, and guideline changes
- Manage and observe contacts and sales notes in the firm’s CRM System
- Onboard new clients
- Serve as the product champion/specialist for the assigned product
Requirements
Required Skills:
- Extreme attention to detail
- Aptitude for managing and cultivating client and consultant relationships
- Ability to thrive in a highly entrepreneurial, fast-paced, competitive work environment
- Proven interest in the financial markets
- Demonstrated knowledge of fixed income investment strategies
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deliverables simultaneously with precision
- Ability to forge and maintain internal relationships with members of Sales, Client Advisory, Investment, Legal, and Operations teams
- Highly self-motivated, results-driven, and resourceful, with a “roll up your sleeves” mindset
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Extreme proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to perform v-lookups, if/then functions, pivot tables, etc.
- Experience streamlining processes with a focus on data governance
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign) is a plus
Background/Professional Requirements:
BA/BS degree required
MBA or CFA is preferred
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience required
Prior experience working with institutional clients is essential
