Job Overview
Strawbery Banke Museum seeks a Vice President of Philanthropy to lead a comprehensive fundraising program at a defining moment in the Museum's history. Reporting to the President and CEO, this leader will shape philanthropic strategy, expand major gifts and corporate partnerships, strengthen donor engagement, and build the systems and relationships that will support the Museum's long-term growth. As the institution prepares for its 70th anniversary and advances ambitious strategic priorities, the Vice President will play a central role in securing the resources that will preserve and share one of New England's most distinctive living history museums.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy spanning major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, grants, corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and membership.
Personally cultivate, solicit, and steward high-capacity donors while strengthening long-term philanthropic relationships.
Lead, mentor, and develop the Museum's philanthropy team while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
Partner closely with the President and CEO, Board Development Committee, and senior leadership to advance strategic fundraising priorities.
Represent the Museum externally with donors, community leaders, elected officials, foundations, and corporate partners.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and at least five years of progressively responsible nonprofit fundraising leadership experience.
Demonstrated success securing major philanthropic support and leading comprehensive fundraising programs.
Experience developing fundraising strategy across multiple revenue streams, including major gifts, grants, corporate support, and membership.
Exceptional relationship-building, communication, leadership, and project management skills.
Passion for historic preservation, history education, community engagement, and mission-driven organizations.
Compensation
